Grapefruit Wins Silver Medal at International Competition for Packaging Design
Bucharest, November 9, 2007- Branding consultancy Grapefruit was awarded the Silver Pentawards for the Transavia packaging design at the 2007 edition of Pentawards. This was the only prize awarded for the Food: Fish, Meat and Poultry category by the Pentawards jurors, among whom international experts in packaging design from either agency or client side, such as Colgate-Palmolive, Danone.
Transavia’s new brand identity, which included the new packaging design, was launched in June 2006. Grapefruit helped redefine the corporate brand as efficient and energetic, standing for the authentic Transylvanian spirit. The new packaging, designed together with renowned photographer Razvan Voiculescu, increased the products’ differentiation on the shelves and yielded an important rise in the company’s awareness on the market.
Grapefruit Chief Creative Officer Marius Ursache said: “We are very pleased with the international acknowledgment of our work, especially from the only worldwide competition specialized in packaging design. At Grapefruit, we strongly believe in design solutions that will clearly differentiate our client’s brand and ultimately turn a profit. For rebranding Transavia, Grapefruit also received the Merit award with the international competition ReBrand 100® Award 2007 and a nomination with Identity: Best of the Best 2007.
