Iasi, June 14, 2005—Grapefruit today launches BrandingRomania (www.brandingromania.com), the first forum dedicated to publicly discussing brand Romania.
The experience of other nations in the field has demonstrated that such an effort has a fair chance to succeed only if a large array of social actors is involved in a grassroots movement. This is BrandingRomania’s very reason of being—to initiate a free, un-intermediated, public debate that would bring together various governmental institutions, as well as many other stakeholders such as entrepreneurs, journalists, artists and scientists, social activists and branding consultants.
“Nation branding is not the exclusive concern of the government, as it also regards all those who are socially, economically, politically, culturally and scientifically active, both at home and abroad. That is why we now call them all to take part in the discussion we start today and, moreover, to act in a manner that will make their efforts count. BrandingRomania does not belong to Grapefruit, but to those who, through their initiative and action, will support and build an authentic nation brand,” said Ştefan Liuţe, Strategy Director, Grapefruit.
The aim of this discussion is a well-defined, ambitious one—to bring together and permanently involve all relevant stakeholders (individuals and organizations) in Romania’s nation branding effort in no longer than a year from today.
Grapefruit has a history of initiating and sustaining similar initiatives, as it is the founder (in 2001) of Wireality (www.wireality.com), one of the world’s most popular branding and corporate identity discussion forums.
Grapefruit (www.grapefruit.ro) is a consultancy for branding and interactive, based in Iasi, România. Its client roster includes companies like Connex, HP, Eli Lilly, DDB San Francisco, and the International Corporate and Brand Identity Centre.
