The customer
Actimed Emergency Systems - currently known as Velfina - is a Romanian medical company that has been active both on the national and international markets since 2001. Its main solutions and products are used in the treatment of wounds.
The challenge
Actimed is the only Romanian supplier of medical products whose quality is recognised at the European level and its approach to the European market has been twofold: both directly, by using a proprietary brand, and indirectly, by subcontracting. Grapefruit assessed the Actimed case and designed the name, strategy and corporate identity of the new brand - Velfina. Apart from the design for a series of implementations of the corporate image, the customer also requested a packaging design for a range of products that were to be launched together with the new brand.
The solution
The packaging design is based on a repetitive pattern that highlights the main elements of the corporate identity - the logo and colour scheme - and puts across a young, warm and optimistic image that help the product stand out from its competitors which generally use cold shades of white and are individualised only by means of a logo.
The market reaction to Velfina proved that the company's range of products is more competitive thanks to the support lent to it by a proprietary brand. Thus, Velfina was successful in a seriously competitive environment and became the choice range of products for the professionals that specialise in wound care management.
