Labormed Rebranding, a Process Signed by Grapefruit

Labormed is one of the top players in the Romanian pharmaceutical market, having Advent International as the main shareholder. In 2009, Labormed took over the Ozone Laboratories OTC portfolio, and also a few key Plantextrakt brands, as part of its regional expansion strategy in the regional Pharma market (generics, OTCs and food supplements).

Grapefruit started working with Labormed in 2008, by defining the brand strategy which included positioning elements, the Labormed employer and product brand strategy. As a result of the portfolio growth, Grapefruit also proposed a clarification and simplification of the brand architecture, introducing clear endorsement guidelines.

In April 2010 the rebranding process became visible through a new identity for all three brands in Labormed’s portfolio—Labormed, Ozone and Ozone Natural, all redesigned by Grapefruit. A new packaging design was created for the ethical products portfolio, as well as a new set of communication materials. The digital presence of all the brands was consolidated in one single website; the new www.labormed.eu has full information on the company, product portfolios and business development opportunities.
