Connex (Mobifon SA) is the biggest mobile operator in Romania, having more than 4 million customers. At the same time, it is also one of the fastest-growing companies in the country. Connex is one of the strongest and most popular Romanian brand since its launch in 1997.
The challenge
A new campaign was initiated in the autumn of 2003 aiming to restructure the image of the Connex brand around a new set of values - humanity, exploration and action. This implied promoting the new brand, together with its personality and values, in an innovatory way, as well as building a new type of relationship between the company and its audience, a relationship which would go beyond the limits of traditional corporate advertising.
The solution
The www.TuFaciViitorul.ro website - which borrowed the name of the new official corporate slogan - was the main feature of the Connex campaign designed to relaunch the brand. The website came across as one of its kind and when accessing it, users found themselves invited and encouraged to share their dreams with other members of the community. Over 15,000 dreams are now published online.
The website has gradually become one of the first Romanian online motivational resources. The information available from the website, combined with the wide range of other resources also present - the forum, various surveys, and the possibility to chat with VIP's - assist users in their work to make their dreams come true. By rendering various teaching and learning resources accessible, by facilitating dialogue between leaders in numerous areas, and by supporting, promoting, and directly encouraging Romanian successes, www.tufaciviitorul.ro has become an important medium for disseminating the true values of the Connex brand.
Grapefruit designed the advertising strategy, the new website infrastructure and graphical user interface. Furthermore, Grapefruit also provides the maintenance and development of the website, as well as the high level of interaction with the website user community.
